Endangered Animals

We say that a species is extinct when there is no longer any individual belonging to that species on Earth. This process, although tragic, is common and is very important for the evolutionary process of species. It is also worth noting that all species, without exception, end up moving towards extinction. It is estimated that the species living today do not correspond to even 1% of the number of species that lived on the planet.

Extinction can occur for several reasons, including habitat destruction, competition, diseases, deliberate hunting and killing, drastic environmental changes and environmental catastrophes.

Nowadays there are lots of  endangered animals such as : Tiger, Polar Bear, Pacific Walrus, Magellanic Penguin, Leatherback Turtle, Atlantic Bluefin Tuna, Mountain Gorilla, Monarch Butterfly, Java Rhino, Giant Panda, In Portugal the Imperial Eagle .
